hangin out

I love that garett dosn't go to work until 3:30. its nice to spend some time together finally! he is usually home by 9:00 at the latest. so that leaves me with 5 hours to find something to occupy my time....Kaida does that well, she is into everything!! heres some evidence! Im excited to get back to my nice, new child proof home!

im not a professional, nor am i trying to be but I took a few pictures of Brett and Paula's (garetts brother) family a couple of weeks ago. here are some of them. they turned out ok...considering we took them in bright sunlight with a not so good lens on a hot day....the kids did great! Garett was the candy man...if the kids smiled they got some candy..haha....it worked really well!

i dont know what it is, but ive noticed that most of my pictures lately are taken close up. i guess im into it, but i need to broaden my horizons a bit! this is right before church on sunday...it was pouring rain out, and i had just finished bribing kaida with her easter basket....i would let her play with it if she sat still while i did her hair.....it worked!!

ma-ma & ba-pa

my parents came up on friday and spent the night. i think mostly to see kaida, but thats ok. me and mom went to the home and interior show up here in calgary...loved it....we are planning on finishing our basement bathroom and shower....so i bought a cute bowl sink. im excited about the whole thing!! then when garett got done work they took us out for dinner, RED LOBSTER, at my request...even though i hate the even thought of sea food, the complimentary biscuts are to die for..so thats what i ate...gar had steak.
and kaida can say ma-ma and ba-pa...so much fun!

im so glad that my family loves beans....what i prefer to eat over any meat. kinda random, but if you are wondering what is all over kaidas face...its leftovers from the tacos w/ beans we had for lunch....a regular menu item in our house.
i took this picture with my new lens, i love it. after i broke my 1.8 i decided to upgrade to the 1.4...so here it is.

Danaka Sadie Mighton.....welcome to earth!! Raschel and Chris had a beautiful baby girl on monday.....congratulations you guys. We..well i cant wait to get up there and see her in person!

i forgot

ok...many of you are wondering why we are in calgary and i am an idiot and forgot to tell you all. Garett is doing an extended season of selling.....so we will be here till october 6th. alot of fun i tell you, but gar is doing really good...im so proud of him!

on the go

it almost feels never ending....we are never home! on monday we bought this cute little van and headed up to calgary. we just decided that we are sick of stuffing everything in our car, plus a van is way easier when you have a kid!! i love it so far.
we are living DOWN TOWN CALGARY....im not in love with that idea...but our appartment isnt in a real busy area...plus we have this lovely view (not really....we are actually looking down on a wonderful gravestone factory) surprizingly it has been very nice....perfectly nice outside. kaida loves to play out on the balcony.

brett and paula live up here, so that has been fun! kaida loves the attention her cousins give her! they live by a lake so we went swimming the other day...i even got sun burnt...in september...i love it!!


i am getting my new lens today...so better quality pictures are on their way!

family reunion 07

the day after we got home we drove to cochrine for our leavitt family reunion. it was good to see everyone. we had a fun time...playing golf and everything else you can imagine.

and we just found out that their sister...kurbie....is expecting another baby...wa hoo....congrats!!

were home

finally.....although i would have to say that as slow as the summer went for me, now that i look back...it went by pretty fast. here is gar's last work day in kansas....he looks excited! we made it home and i love home, it feels so good to be home. we drove for 2 days.....kaida was awesome too!! we made a stop at mt rushmore....kinda cool!! and i know that i look half pregnant in this picutre...but no...im not. i guess i was a slaker in the exercise department the last month of summer!!
here is the BEAUTIFUL landscape that we saw as we crossed the border in to CANADA....i was so excited....i missed gool ol chief
and yes....we have grass!! thanks to mother and father leavitt who spent long hard hours this summer on our yard trying to get our grass to grow...and it did. this is seriously garetts face...i didnt tell him to do this...ha
kaida has loved being home too...i dont think she forgot about her house. she has been into everything and non stop. its cute though.
